As reported by TASS, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that Tehran remains in contact with Oman and other interested parties.

Iranian authorities continue consultations with Oman and other stakeholders to develop a mechanism for ensuring security in the Strait of Hormuz. This was announced by the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei.

“The Strait of Hormuz lies within the territorial waters of Iran and Oman, therefore these two coastal states are obligated to take the necessary measures to ensure safe passage for all countries. We remain in constant contact with Oman and other interested parties to develop a mechanism that will achieve this objective, and negotiations are ongoing,” he said during a press conference.

On May 15, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran is prepared to guarantee safe passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz following the end of the war with the United States.
