On September 12, a working meeting on mutual trade between Syria and Russia was held in Damascus

On September 12, a working meeting on mutual trade between Syria and Russia was held in Damascus, organized by the Russian Trade Mission in Syria, Georgy Asatryan. 

The meeting was attended by Vitaly Gavrilov, Director of the Electronic Commerce Union, and Artur Leer, Vice President of the Association of Exporters and Importers. On the Syrian side, there were: the Export Support Center under the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, represented by the Head of the center, Saer Fayyad, and representatives of large Syrian companies and food producers focused on exports. 

The participants of the meeting discussed issues of financial and transport logistics, the possibility of carrying out currency transactions in local currencies, reducing the administrative burden, the need to develop infrastructure for the development of trade exchange between the two countries. 

Artur Leer expressed readiness to contribute to improving the conditions for mutual trade and removing barriers to the participation of Syrian companies in Russian exhibitions, including for the comprehensive participation of Syria at the Foodexpo exhibition.
